This is a sub-portal page that links to sites for which I have published work, directly to pieces (that will open as PDFs or Word .docs) of travelogue and academic work I completed in the 2004-06 season at UW-Milwaukee while pursuing a new degree, and a few personal blogs written in columnist style.

• The Shooting of Tou Yang (2005): Written for JMC 203 Group project intended for magazine publication. In the end, I took it on but by the end of semester the material dated and no one locally took it. Still one of my favorites so far.
  

• A study of street parking conditions near the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (2005): This was done as a web-based journalism story for JMC 601-Internet Journalism. I got many emails asking to use my findings and report as the battle to implement the "Residential Preferred Parking" plan went before WI legislature.
  

• Ruminations over a bowl of Wisconsin Chili (2004): written for Jim Hazard's JMC 260 feature writing class, and a personal quest of my own to find the history of an enigmatic recipe.
  

• Three Brothers Blog Test (2006): written as a last step in the interview process for a spot as a culinary blogger for VISIT Milwaukee. They ended up giving the spot to a newcomer to the city, but said they liked me.
  

• Computer glitch causes new multi-million dollar police system to fail (2005): Written for JMC 500 as an investigative piece to find out why the new MPD crime tracking system was failing. Includes interviews with Chief Hegerty and others.
